Whether new to the faith or with many seasons of Bible study under your belt, this class will enrich your study of the sacred texts that have been treasured by disciples and molded the church down through the ages. Rather than looking at selected passages in isolation we will use a wide angle lens to overview that New Testament. We will engage with topics such as:

  • How did the 1st century environment affect the way the New Testament was written and who were the first people to receive these writings?
  • Why do we have 3 “similar” gospels and one that seems very different?
  • How do the book of Acts and Paul’s letters work together to show the issues the growing church had to face and what do they say to us today about our challenges?
  • What are the different genres of writing in the New Testament and how does that matter when studying a particular passage?
  • What is the book of Revelation all about and should I be afraid?
